Didactics
The Library has been carrying out educational activities for years, which aim to:
– promote knowledge of documentary and bibliographical sources and introduce historical research methodology through thematic seminars aimed at high school students;
– to promote knowledge of documentary and bibliographic sources and of processing and cataloguing methodologies through curricular internships and other initiatives aimed at university students on the basis of specific agreements with academic institutions; as far as the universities of Roma Sapienza and Roma Tre are concerned, internships and related training projects are regulated by membership of the Jobsoul system (http://www.jobsoul.it/);
– contribute to vocational training, enabling voluntary service under Presidential Decree 1356/1966.
Upon request, educational visits are organised for groups of up to 20 people, offering an illustrative tour of the library’s holdings and the formation of the collections, bibliographic research and consultation of catalogues, databases and digital resources.
The educational activities of the Library are included in the initiatives of the Centre for Museum and Territorial Educational Services of the Mibact (http://www.sed.beniculturali.it/), with the task of disseminating knowledge of cultural heritage, and identifying suitable paths to foster knowledge of and access to documentary sources.
